Job Description

A qualified clinic sister is needed to join Dis-Chem’s Stellenbosch team. The main purpose of the job is to oversee and run a successful primary health care clinic inside a pharmacy while working as a registered nurse practitioner.

The Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric and a Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  • Degree or diploma in Midwifery and registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) and nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
  • 2 to 3 years experience in practicing as a primary health care clinic sister and computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and a Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister and Patient Record System (CKS) and Allegra.

Job Description

  • Perform Clinic Sister duties and responsibilities according to industry regulations and industry best practices, and Manage the average “feet-per-hour” rate and set clinic objectives to enhance patient
  • Make sure all clinic services are available at the Keep accurate records of patient details, and make sure communication is followed up
  • make sure that the Clinic is open and operational according to the hours stated in the operational and Process claims accurately and timely according to industry
  • make sure all the stock and equipment in the clinic is in working condition according to industry
  • Make sure stock is enough in the Clinic according to business and Build and maintain healthy relationships with the following stakeholders: patientss, Store and Dispensary managers, Colleagues, Medical aid suppliers and reps, key role players in the community, and other Healthcare.

Competencies

  • Understanding of community health nursing, primary health care and/or occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre and post-counseloring, breastfeeding, pathology, wound care and Quarterly CPD training; in-service training with Dis-Chem
  • Strong command of English (written and oral) and knowledge of the financial implications of meeting or not meeting set monthly targets and a Strong analytical skills relating to monthly clinic statistics and commission; emotional intelligence; entrepreneurial flair; trustworthy and honest
  • The ability to manage team and yourself, be self-direct and self-motivated; and Time management
  • Bilingual, knowledge and understanding of the business objectives and Baby Immunization Course (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur); Family planning (DoH); Primary Health Care Course; Breastfeeding course; Disease management course

Special conditions of employment

  • Willing and able to work retail hours and Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic and should hace a Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport, South African citizen and Clear credit and criminal records
